The Alpine Report
2026/27
Welcome to the latest edition of The Alpine Report – the ultimate guide to high altitude property and lifestyle.
The mountain property market has rarely looked so robust, or so uneven. Skier visits have reached a record high globally, yet residential price performance in these markets is diverging sharply.
Climate change is the obvious challenge, with average Alpine snowfall falling by 34% between 1920 and 2020. But the most striking shift is the rise of the second season, turning ski homes into year-round bases.
This year’s report makes one point plain: value is being redefined. Buyers still want top skiing, but they increasingly prize scarcity, reliability and a life beyond the piste. The resorts that offer all three are now setting the pace.
