Located on the edge of the city centre, Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter is an urban village with a community feel. It is a designated conservation area with more than 200 listed buildings and contains Europe's largest concentration of businesses involved in the jewellery trade.

Why is it primed for growth?
Its proximity to the city core, upcoming regeneration and access to new transport – Phase One of HS2 is slated to open between 2029 and 2033 and will cut journey times from London to Birmingham to 52 minutes.
Argent’s mixed-use development Paradise, at almost 2 million sq ft, will offer new homes, offices, shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. Another new development, 103 Colmore Row, is set to become the tallest commercial building in the city.
My favourite bits:
The annual Jewellery Quarter Festival, which incorporates live jazz bands across various venues; the Georgian surroundings of St Paul's Square; music and jazz venue The Jam House; and the eclectic menu at British restaurant Folium.
What will my money buy me?
A two-bedroom flat comes in at around £300,000 to £350,000. For four-bedroom townhouses you are looking at £450,000 to £500,000. Investors can achieve gross residential yields of between 4% and 5%.
