Why is the area up and coming?
The completion of a 10-year infrastructure programme, which included a new international school, has transformed the central part of Montana village and the lakeside. The Magic Pass annual ski pass has also boosted tourist numbers. It's also very easily accessible, with Sion Airport just 20 minutes away, Crans-Montana is at the heart of the canton of Valais. It is south facing so there is a strong focus on summer sports, golf, swimming and water sports on the area’s many lakes.
My favourite bits
Trying out the new ski touring routes that ascend over 4000m. I also love wakeboarding on the temporary beach, and of course the amazing restaurants on the pistes.
Who’s buying?
Overseas buyers are becoming more interested now due to the international school. We still see lots of Italians as we are just a two-hour commute from Milan.
What will my money buy me?
A chalet in Crans-Montana would be around SFr10 million, while SFr2.5 million will buy a nice central apartment.
