Chris Barker

Chris Barker is a Partner at Knight Frank Australia and is the National Head of Building Consultancy. Chris has been working with Knight Frank for over 15 years within NSW and manages the national team of Chartered Building Consultants. Chris is responsible for generating business nationally and within NSW and delivery of services to Knight Frank's clients. Chris' clients include major property funds and REITS including Lendlease, GPT, Mirvac, Charter Hall, Frasers, HMC, Dexus, AsheMorgan and Goodman. Chris is also a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 2003, appointed as the RICS Global Principal Assessor for Oceania and a former RICS board member. Chris is currently an assessor and councils several candidates. As well as the management side of the business Chris specialises in several service lines including technical due diligence, make good, capital expenditure advisory services and expert witness in relation to building defects. The main areas of focus that Chris and his team specialise in are Commercial, Industrial, Retail and Alternatives (including Hotels, Student Accommodation, BTR, aged-care and childcare). More recently Chris and the NSW team have been involved in specialist advisory services associated with residential strata defects and the Building Commissions Strata Bond Scheme.
