For many people, the high-rise buildings, billboards and crowded streets of Shibuya are what come to mind when they think of Tokyo. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan and the world, Shibuya is a treat for connoisseurs of the urban landscape.

Why is it primed for growth?

Shibuya has been undergoing major infrastructure and urban redevelopment both as part of long-term government plans and in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics, postponed due to Covid-19 and currently tentatively rescheduled for July 2021.

High earners and top-level executives are keen to own a piece of property in the heart of one of the world’s most vibrant cities, close to the shopping, fashion and nightlife districts and Tokyo’s major commercial hubs.

The sheer number of things to do here keeps me coming back – trying out all kinds of food, café hopping, shopping for international and local brands and goods, and just soaking in the hustle and bustle of the city. It is all the little things that make this place fantastic!

What will my money buy me?

A two to three-bedroom condominium of 75 to 80 sq m costs around US$1.35 million. An ultra-luxury condominium in a new development just 600m north of Shibuya Crossing will command US$1.75 million.
