Next Neighbourhoods 2021: Beauvallon, Côte d’Azur, France

Enjoying south-facing views over the bay of St Tropez, Beauvallon is the name given to the area of Grimaud which falls between the old hilltop village and the next-door town of Ste Maxime. The area is home to a number of sought-after gated communities with 24-hour security, and offers great facilities including the Golf Club de Beauvallon. From Beauvallon one can easily access the beaches of the bay as well as the coastal road to St Tropez and the peninsula.

Why is it primed for growth?

For those looking for a sea view and proximity to St Tropez, the associated price tag can be astronomical. In addition, the geography of St Tropez’s peninsula makes it difficult to find a home with a south-facing orientation.

Beauvallon may be further from the port town, but it offers glorious views over the bay and access to the beaches. For those owners arriving by plane, Beauvallon is that much closer to Nice’s International Airport as well as to the motorway for those travelling by car. International buyers are recognising these features and investing in the area.

My favourite bits:

The Golf Club de Beauvallon is the perfect place to perfect your swing while enjoying amazing sea views. For architecture-lovers, the neighbourhood is home to the noted Modernist building Villa Vent d’Aval and the golf club itself (listed as a historical monument) as well as the more contemporary Villa Seynave, designed by Jean Prouvé.

What will my money buy me?

A four-bedroom Provençal-style villa in Beauvallon with sea views is typically around €2 million. A high-quality contemporary villa – for which there is good demand – can fetch considerably more.

One thing the locals like to keep secret:

There are regular shuttle ferries from nearby Ste Maxime to the port town of St Tropez with its weekly markets, boutique shops and exceptional restaurants. By travelling this way, you avoid the traffic of the coastal road and enjoy the sea breeze!
