James Farrell will oversee and expand Knight Frank’s Rural Asset Management and Agricultural Consultancy businesses. Having previously worked for 10 years as Head of Rural at another leading real estate firm, he has more than 30 years’ experience in the sector and will bring a wealth of expertise to Knight Frank, providing best-in-class estate management and strategic advisory services to clients.

With 40 years’ experience dealing with rural estates in Southern England and the Midlands, Tom Richardson will advise rural clients on strategic reviews and provide thought-leadership. Like James, Tom joins the firm from a global real estate agency, where he held several positions including Senior Director and Deputy Senior Partner, specialising in business reviews, succession and tax planning for landed families.

Alistair Elliott, Knight Frank’s Group Chairman, says: ‘’Despite last year being a challenging time for real estate, Knight Frank has outperformed all expectations and delivered a robust performance. This has enabled the firm to continue to hire the best people in the market and retain our exceptional talent - a key business priority. James and Tom’s arrival is the latest in a host of strategic growth initiatives and I am delighted that two of the best-known advisers in their field are joining the firm.”
