_Knight Frank hires a former MD of HSBC to head up its Strategic Capital team
KFCA is an FCA-regulated business that provides integrated capital structuring and sourcing services for real estate investors across the UK and Europe.
Jones will join the firm as a Partner in September 2023. She is the latest senior hire to join KFCA following a period of rapid expansion and will work alongside the established Debt Advisory team, headed by Lisa Attenborough, and the Equity Advisory team, led by Emma Winning.
Josephine Jones, Head of Strategic Capital
Jones has over 15 years of transactional experience in the financial sector, having held several key roles at HSBC from 2007 to 2022, including Head of Credit & Lending, and Managing Director for the Real Estate Finance team within Asia Pacific. Here she was responsible for generating new business, building relationships and increasing HSBC’s institutional finance portfolio. Her extensive deal experience extends beyond real estate to encompass leveraged finance, corporate finance, and infrastructure finance.
Jones has a strong investor network, which will be invaluable in her new role at Knight Frank. The network includes major private equity sponsors, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, and pension funds across Europe, Asia, Australia, and Canada.
At Knight Frank, Jones will focus on providing strategic advice to institutional clients on large or complex transactions, including those with operational income, concentrated tenant profiles, or which require multiple or hybrid financing sources. Her remit will cover green and ESG-linked deals, multi-jurisdictional portfolios, and corporate and infrastructure cross-over transactions.
Lisa Attenborough, Head of Debt Advisory at Knight Frank, said:
“Josephine’s unparalleled experience of working with complicated financial structures will bring a unique added dimension to KFCA, while her detailed understanding of the underlying income streams and tenant profiles of institutional assets will strengthen our consultancy, agency and capital raising offering. Josephine’s appointment will help us to continue to provide the very best service and advice for our clients, and we are thrilled to welcome Josephine to our rapidly expanding team.”
James Mannix, Head of Residential Development & Investment at Knight Frank, added:
“Knight Frank is on a rapid growth trajectory over the next few years. Our ambition is to expand key teams around the world by hiring exceptionally talented individuals who are trailblazers within their field. By bringing people like Josephine on-board, it will allow us to continue delivering market-leading advice to global clients. Josephine’s impressive track-record has earned her a reputation as one of the financial industry’s shining stars, and we’re delighted she’s joining Knight Frank.”
