A major commercial property development in Greater Manchester has been hailed as a major success, according to a report by the local council.
The report said the establishment by Tameside council of a development zone at Ashton Moss, outside Ashton-under-Lyne town centre, has brought about £400 million of investment, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Ashton Moss was jointly put together by Muse Developments and Stayley Developments, Darran Lawless of the former company telling the paper: "With more than 1.4m sq ft of high-quality office, industrial, retail and leisure space, the development has helped to transform the local area, acting as a catalyst for wealth and job creation."
He stated that one of the key elements of the 200-acre site was the establishment of a £20 million hotel.
Another property development which may be taking place in the north-west is centred on the Cheshire town of Crewe.
Developers Graftongate and Highcross have applied for planning permission to build two new industrial units at the Orion Business Park, Place North West reports.
