Singapore-based investment firm GIC Real estate has joined forces with Orchard Street Investment Management to launch a new property acquisition fund for the UK market.
The two have grouped together to compile a £300 million fund of which up to two thirds will come from gearing, Property Week reports.
It will seek to buy up to 15 individual properties worth between £15 million and £50 million each over the next three years, with the duration of the partnership lined up to last seven years in full.
Chris Bartram, the chairman of Orchard Street, said: "The object is to buy assets with active management potential for improvement," adding that this was "an area of particular experience and expertise for Orchard Street".
The latest edition of the Property Investor's Handbook, published by Which?, has said property investment in the UK is still viable, with a diverse range of possibilities for making a profit, Choices reports.
