Dundee_housing_plan_gets_thumbs_up

A housing proposal for the western gateway of Dundee has been given the go-ahead by the city council, it has been announced.

Gladedale North East Scotland revealed that the 230-home South Gray development has now received the necessary consent and said construction work will begin early next year.

The development will have 194 houses of three, four and five bedrooms, along with 21 terraces and 15 flats.

Responding to the news, Gladedale North East Scotland managing director Jason Wallace commented: "We believe this is an exciting development which will bring a variety of much needed housing to the west of Dundee, ranging from two-bedroom apartments up to five-bedroom detached houses."

Dundee, the fourth largest city in Scotland, has seen above-average house price inflation in the past year.

The most recent Land Registry figures, for February this year, put the annual house price inflation rate at 18.2 per cent, compared with 10.7 per cent for Scotland as a whole.
