A major commercial office project that will substantially increase the available amount of office space in the centre of Derby has been revealed.
Proposals to create six buildings of between six and nine storeys with a combined total of 400,000 sq ft of space have been unveiled by locally-based firm Norseman Investments, Property Week reports.
The £150 million project is planned for a site next to the Westfield Derby Shopping Centre that the company has bought from the Speeds car dealership.
If permission is granted the firm is hoping to start work next year and complete the project in 2011.
While Norseman Investments seeks to create new commercial property, in Glasgow two entrepreneurs have teamed up to seek existing estate at bargain prices.
John White and Andrew Templeton have combined forces to form Sanderling Estates, which has raised £56 million through a facility with the Royal Bank of Scotland and £14 million from private investor partners to provide a fund to take advantage of cut-price opportunities, the Sunday Herald reported at the weekend.
