Richard Branson's Virgin Group is reportedly in talks that will see it becoming involved in a project to build a new commercial property in central Manchester.
The plan is said to include a proposal for a hotel owned and run by Mr Branson's firm which would occupy 23 floors of the 44-storey skyscraper to be built on Aytoun Street.
Both Virgin Group and developers Albany Crown have declined to publicly confirm the plan, the Manchester Evening News has reported.
Albany Crown bought the site three years ago, which is currently occupied by a derelict building and lies close to Piccadilly Station.
A major property investment project on the other side of the station was revealed earlier this month.
Grangefield Estates published plans to create a "Harley Street of the North" with a health precinct being one feature of a regeneration plan for the Ardwick area which will also include extensive residential, business and retail developments.
