A commercial property in Birmingham is undergoing a green refurbishment to make it more attractive to potential clients.
Hermes Real Estate has announced it is instigating a major transformation of the Athena Point industrial and warehouse facility in the north of the city, the Birmingham Post reports.
The 101,582 sq ft facility will be fitted with devices such as solar panels, water-saving facilities and energy-efficient lighting systems.
Explaining the move, the firm's asset manager Bob Dawson said tenants were becoming increasingly "discerning" about sustainability and was "confident that this refurbishment will create a sustainable asset that will perform well in the long-term".
Another recent green office development taking place is a recently approved office complex in Glasgow, being built by Castlemilk Securities at a cost of £130 million.
Company spokesman Nigel Crump recently told the Green Building Press: "Green credentials are fundamental in any building, particularly a new one."
